Minnesota is a state of abundance. We have what we need to take care of each other, to invest in the health and economic security of all Minnesotans, and build a stronger and more equitable recovery – if we, as a state, choose to do so.
We know that all Minnesotans deserve to feel safe in their community, to get the health care they need, and to pursue their dreams for themselves and their children.
But too many of us are suffering because of the pandemic. And this unequal recession is doing the most harm to those with the least resources to get through it.
Minnesota is a state of abundance, and should raise revenues in order to fully respond to the pandemic and economic downturn so that Minnesotans can be healthy, safe, and economically secure; to protect community and public services that Minnesotans count on; and build a more equitable recovery; and
Policy makers should prioritize revenue-raising options that focus on those with the most resources, and that make the tax system more fair and equitable.
We can unite and urge policymakers to pursue the recovery that Minnesotans deserve and build a stronger, more equitable future for all of us by asking those with the most resources to pay a bit more.
